Visa
If you are coming to SIPS 2026 from abroad and you are not a citizen of a State within the European Union or the Schengen Area, you are required to have a valid passport (issued less than 10 years ago and with three months validity after leaving France) and a French short-stay visa before entering France. Everything you need to know to apply for such a visa is detailed here, on the France Visas website provided by the government.
Please note that if you plan on attending SIPS 2026, you should start this process as soon as possible, and at the latest one month before your inbound trip.
Getting to Bordeaux

Travel by plane
Bordeaux is easily accessible from anywhere in the world by air. The city is served by all three major airline alliances—Star Alliance, SkyTeam, and Oneworld—either through direct flights or via a European hub, allowing travelers to reach Bordeaux without transiting through Paris.
All flights arrive at Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport, located just a few kilometers from the city center, making onward travel quick and convenient.
Taxis are available outside Hall A of the airport terminal. The journey to downtown Bordeaux takes approximately 20 minutes and costs around €30 during the day or €45 at night.
The most economical option is Tram Line A, which connects the airport to the city center in about 35 minutes. Trams run every 10 minutes from 5:00 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. The stop is located in front of the express parking area, near Hall B.
A single ticket costs €1.80 and allows unlimited travel on trams and buses for one hour. Tickets can be purchased from vending machines at the tram stop.
